Wim Catrysse's films Outpost got selected for Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin, 19 - 24 June.

The festival presents cinematic works by world-famous filmmakers as well as young talents in world and German premieres. Artists and experts talk about current issues of contemporary image culture and explore the latest documentary, fictional and multimedia approaches. Curated by Natalie Hénon and Jean-François Rettig.


Wim Catrysse films Russian minors in the polar landscape of Svalbard, a Norwegian archipelago in the Arctic Ocean. Russia maintains a presence there for strategic and geopolitical reasons. The film provides a grim outlook for a society that seems to have reached a final industrial stage.
